Experience has fostered a deep appreciation of life’s dance and led me to train as a professional Life-Cycle Celebrant and End of Life/Grief Doula. I am practiced in the creation of authentic personal ceremonies and performing weddings, celebrations of life, healing circles and other ceremonies that honour life’s important intersections and passages. I am open and affirming of all beliefs and work with clients of all ages, gender identities and ethnicities, to skillfully choreograph their ceremonies.
I have been trained through the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, certified as a Sacred Passage End of Life Doula through Conscious Dying Institute, and ordained as a Metaphysical Minister through the Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry. I am a member of Interior British Columbia Quakers and as a long time meditator in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, I host weekly Mindfulness Awareness online meditation sessions. All the experience, skills, and training I have garnered over the years, inspire the art of crafting a beautiful ceremony and/ or support clients and their families as they navigate end of life journeys.
Over the years, I have been invited to serve as the first Executive Director for new or fledgling organizations. My passion was articulating the visions and missions for the founders and then building successful programs for the benefit of the community. These include: Ballet Kelowna, The National Museum of Dance, Boulder County Arts Alliance, and Collage Children’s Museum. I am currently a partner in OOMPH! Consulting providing organizations and businesses with the extra energy and insight to get them where they want to go!
In 2007 I moved to Ravens View Farm in Peachland from Boulder, Colorado with my husband Mark to cultivate a life dream of stewarding an organic farm. Avid orchardists, we nurture stone fruit trees, peaches and plums, providing master chefs in the Okanagan Valley and visitors to the Peachland Farmers’ Market with juicy tree-ripened fruit. I have also raised heritage chickens and bees. In collaboration with other celebrants and shamans, I enjoy performing seasonal ceremonies in the farm's lavender labyrinth to celebrate the passing of the seasons. What a life!
