Being a Celebrant is a Calling

Over the years, my experience has deepened my appreciation for life’s dance and led me to train as a professional Life-Cycle Celebrant and End-of-Life/Grief Doula. I create authentic, personal ceremonies—weddings, celebrations of life, healing circles, and other meaningful rituals—that honour life’s important passages.

I am open and affirming of all beliefs, working with clients of all ages, gender identities, and backgrounds to skillfully choreograph ceremonies that reflect who they truly are. Every ceremony I craft is designed to be heartfelt, memorable, and uniquely yours.

I offer wedding ceremonies, celebrations of life, and end-of-life support in the Okanagan Valley. I have trained with the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, am certified as a Sacred Passage End-of-Life Doula through the Conscious Dying Institute, and ordained as a Metaphysical Minister through the Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry. I am also a member of the Interior British Columbia Quakers, and a long-time meditator in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, hosting weekly online Mindfulness Awareness sessions.

All of these experiences, skills, and trainings inspire the art of crafting beautiful ceremonies—and supporting clients and their families with compassion as they navigate life’s most significant journeys. ceremony and/ or support clients and their families as they navigate end of life journeys.

An entrepreneurial Spirit

Over the years, I have been invited to serve as the first Executive Director for new or fledgling organizations.  My passion was articulating the visions and missions for the founders and then building successful programs for the benefit of the community. These include: Ballet Kelowna, The National Museum of Dance, Boulder County Arts Alliance, and Collage Children’s Museum. I am currently a partner in OOMPH! Consulting providing organizations and businesses with the extra energy and insight to get them where they want to go!

Life on Ravens View Farm

In 2007, my husband Mark and I moved from Boulder, Colorado, to Ravens View Farm in Peachland, BC, to pursue a lifelong dream: stewarding an organic farm. As avid orchardists, we nurtured stone fruit trees—peaches and plums—that delighted master chefs across the Okanagan Valley and visitors at the Peachland Farmers’ Market.

I’ve also raised heritage chickens and kept bees, immersing myself in the rhythms of the land. Collaborating with fellow celebrants and shamans, I loved hosting seasonal ceremonies in the farm’s lavender labyrinth, marking the cycles of nature and celebrating the passing of the seasons.

What a life—and what a joy it has been to blend care for the land with care for the heart!
